Max Vernon (born May 24, 1988) is an American performer, visual artist, and songwriter from Los Angeles, California, currently living and performing in New York City, where he attended New York University. Best known for his prolific lyrics and piano compositions, he has garnered a substantial following in response to the media he has posted online, mainly through file sharing and various videos of original compositions and covers. ==Music== Vernon first started performing in 2006 at The Sidewalk Cafe, soon becoming a regular. Since then he has been featured at the yearly Antifolk Festival and performed at various venues in the city, including Ars Nova and most recently, Joe's Pub with fellow Antifolk musician, Dan Fishback. In 2008, two of his covers (Ace of Base and Katy Perry) made Coverville's top 5 best covers of the year, one of which was later featured in New York Magazine and used on the Guilt By Association Vol. 2 compilation, alongside artists such as Kaki King, Matt Pond PA, My Brightest Diamond, and Frightened Rabbit.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=My Brightest Diamond Frightened Rabbit Do Covers )〕 His cover of The Smiths' "Headmaster Ritual" was featured on The Music Slut's compilation, "TMS Hearts Moz".
